Everything you need to know about our puppies, how they’re raised, and what to expect when bringing a Pembroke Welsh Corgi home.
Welcoming a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy into your home is an exciting experience. At Corgi Corral of Virginia, we want every puppy owner to feel confident and prepared before bringing their new companion home.
Pembroke Welsh Corgis are known for their distinctive appearance, short legs, and lively personalities. Originally bred as herding dogs, they are intelligent, loyal, and full of energy, making them wonderful companions for families and individuals alike.
Corgis are quick learners that respond well to training and enjoy learning new commands and routines.
They form strong bonds with their families and love being involved in everyday life.
Corgis have plenty of energy but can adapt well to different living environments with proper exercise and attention.
With proper socialization, they do well with children and other pets, making them a great fit for active households.
At Corgi Corral of Virginia, puppies are raised in a home environment where they receive careful supervision from the moment they are born. During their earliest weeks, they remain close to their mother in a warm environment, are monitored closely to ensure healthy growth, and receive early human interaction.
After the first couple of weeks, the puppies move into a whelping box, where they begin to explore, move around, and develop coordination. Because they are raised in a home setting rather than a kennel facility, they become comfortable with people and everyday household activity early in life.
From preparation to training and care, we’ve designed our process to give every puppy the best possible start.
Before bringing your puppy home, it’s important to have the essentials ready. A comfortable bed, food and water bowls, quality puppy food, toys, and basic supplies will help your puppy settle in quickly and comfortably.
Puppies are naturally curious and love to explore. Removing hazards like loose cords, small objects, and unsafe items helps create a safe environment while they learn their new surroundings.
Each puppy receives early veterinary care before going home, including vaccinations, worming, a full health check, and health records. This ensures a healthy and confident start.
Corgis are intelligent and eager to learn. Starting training early with simple commands, consistent routines, and positive reinforcement helps build strong habits and confidence.
Proper nutrition is essential for growing puppies. A high-quality puppy food and consistent feeding schedule help support healthy development and long-term wellbeing.
